In preparation of LANNAGE I am putting up a couple of builds for the original NWN. The hope is that they will be used to form a party on a play through of the Lord Of Terror mod.

A great place for builds is the Character Build Search. It contains numerous builds from different authors and is always a good place to look for ideas.

Death from the Shadows
Original: My own build.

A strength-based, dual-wielding rogue that is designed to have other avenues of damage other than sneak so that crit-immunes are not impossible. He has a large skill-set and is great fun to play. The only issue is the crappy Will save and lack of defence against enemies with True Seeing.

Devastating Marksman
Original: My own build.

An Arcane Archer that gets access to level 8 Cleric spells making him surprisingly tough and resourceful. He uses Zen Archery in place of dexterity for AB, making even his unbuffed AB decent. When buffed with Divine Power and other AB-increasing buffs this gets even better. With a decent strength score he an make good use of mighty bows for extra damage and later in life he even gets access to Devastating Critical, meaning insta-death to foes who fail to make the save!

This build manages an AB of 49/49/44/39/36 (5 attacks per round) with Rapid Shot and Divine Power active. When adding Haste, item properties and other buffs to this it gets very nice indeed.

Arcane Sniper v2

Less min-maxed than the 1st version, netting it +2 to strength (2 extra damage per hit on mighty bows) and +1 to charisma (can cast level 4 Bard spells). It sacrifices 1 AB and AC for this. Given the original build had 55AB (pretty high), I felt less min-maxing couldn't hurt it too much. It's a more rounded character that will do better on lower magic settings now.

Based on this build. A more stand-up orientated archer with access to Devastating Critical. The high strength score also helps it immensely with mighty bows (more damage). At a pinch it could even melee to a moderate degree.

Rwaaar! v2

A slight modification of the above build. It ends up pretty much the same and mainly involves slight levelling differences. The reason for this version is because I didn't really like Called Shot and Improved Power Attack - the build got way too many feats pre-epic that were "wasted". Although the AB is 1 less earlier on, it picks up again in epic levels thanks to the 2 free Fighter feats now being used for Epic Prowess and Epic Weapon Focus (also allowing for 1 more Great Strength, meaning initial Strength was reduced by one to allow for more Constitution).

Depending on your tastes it may be a better plan than the above.

Compared to the above build:
+ 40 HP (+2 CON)
+ Earlier Devastating Critical (level 25 as opposed to 29)
+ 4 Skillpoints, put into Lore
- No Called Shot
- No Improved Power Attack

Devastating Meat-Shield

A front-line melee guy that deals heavy damage and does a fair job at protecting himself while at it.

Points of Interest
- High Critical threat range with Devastating Critical (lvl 29)
- Epic Damage Reduction (absorbs first 9 points of all damage taken) (lvl 36-40)
- High Constitution and HitPoints
- Gets maximum Tumble (+4 AC) and UMD (to use Monk boots, for example)
- Gets Knockdown (lvl 15) and 1d6 Sneak Attack (lvl 20) for even more damage
- High AB (48) and high damage (EWS and decent Strength score)
- Great Cleave (lvl 1, lvl 9) and Whirlwind Attack (lvl 6) for earlier level AOE (less useful later on).
