So we have:
Option Station
Winterfell
[PK]Fort Gregory
[PK]Helms Deep

Superb! I can change our two non PK bases via the power of admin to include our guild tag.

Maybe it's time for a peek and see if I can destroy a station? LOL!

Just to make sure you are alert and able to kick my butt! ;-)

LOL.

I won't attempt it if you guy's don't want me to.

The Station Detonator works like this.
- I have to deploy it near (But not to near) a player build station. (200-2000) I think.
- There is a countdown of 2 or 3 min before detonation.
- I have to stay in the vicinity the whole time.
- I can't dock with the station.
If I violate any of those rules, the countdown is stopped and the device is lost for me.
I am allowed to use any cloaking device ;-) (I normally don't since I want to face the threat)

If you are up for it, when I see some of you online, I'll attempt to destroy it.
If you can't chase me away or kill me, I'll stop the countdown myself and try again
until you succeed. Will be great tactic and combat training for you and lots of fun.
Save before attacking so you'll respawn close by after I kill you ROFLMAO!

Up for it?

Sounds like fun, I am up for it - although I have the strangest feeling I will get my arse handed to me on a plate. I bet even with 3 of us against you we would still lose!

Don't be so sure about that mate. I'm rusty and you guy's are "hungry".

Also, keep in mind that 2 pilots connected (Pilot/Gunner) is a hard target even for an
experienced player. Lots of guns facing you LOL!

I also have a very limited area to maneuver in since I have to stay close to the station
but not to close.

I might have some tricks up my sleeves tho! ;-)

:-) Well sounds like fun anyway. We will have to coordinate a time when we are all on to have a go. That is, assuming others are up for it.

I normally fly late at night (Swedish time) so I'll try to get on whenever you guy's are able to.

Btw, did you get the files I emailed you?

I suck ass at combat unless it occurs whilst traveling backwards very slowly. But I don’t actually have any stations so I say knock yourself out!

I hardly ever fly straight forward in a fight. ;-) Normally backwards!

The only way to improve is practice! If you get a hang of PvP, fighting AI ships
will be a walk in the park from then on.

It seems my dog-fighting technique is not often used then? Is the consensus generally to do your fighting in inertia, flying backwards?

Your way defiantly works, but I think it come a bit unstuck when the numbers are stacked against you.

Fighting PvP is very different to fighting AI.

Almost everyone I know fight in inertia and maybe for short period of times
switch to IDS mode. The heat signature is much smaller in inertia and the missiles
are "smarter" nowadays (CM's aren't as effective). I normally take them out with my guns
flying backwards or sideways. This is especially important when fighting multiple foes.

Think about that if you are chasing someone and he/she fires at you, you are going head
on with the rounds while your opponent is going away from your rounds. Who will score
the best hits?

I don't say that any fighting style is right or wrong. You should do what works best for your
way of fighting. Keep an open mind and try different approaches and keep what works
for you.

When fighting the AI, how do you compensate for the fact that they seem to be able to out accelerate you regardless of your starting speed / ship arrangement?

Pick another target if anyone is close enough. (He will come back)

You can also start to run (Flee). Many times they turn around and chase you.
Then he is all yours.

A good tactic is to target the engines (Cycle with U). Then he can't escape that easy.

Targeting the engines is a dam fine idea! Do you have to adjust your aim to get the engines or does every shot that hits the target simply deal damage to that sub system only?
