Should I direct potential members to register an account on here?

As the guild is 'frozen' I believe new members must wait until launch and get invited to the guild from in game. Also, you cannot 'register' with this site at the moment - I have to manually create an account for anyone (this was as I did not want any old person registering an account with it).

So, the best way I think would be to wait until launch and speak to me or another officer to recruit them in game.

For a website account: if they wish to have an account on this site, currently PM'ing me from their TOR account would probably be the best way for me to set them up a website account.

'Registration' for this site may be a feature I add...we will see...

EDIT: I will look into getting a registration feature for the site as I believe this will come in very handy when we are recruiting.

You can now direct potential recruits that you believe would suit the guild to this site, as I have a working application form.

Sounds like a plan - I didn't think any of your team mashed buddies was interested in TOR?

Just thought I would throw this out there:

A note to all those members of the guild who can recruit new members: I am happy for you to do so - BUT please dont just recruit any old person for the sake of it. Group up with them first, see what they are like, if you believe they would suit the guild then by all means sign them up.

Please do let me know of any additions to the guild - pref. using these forums.

Please also direct them to this site to register an account and get access to the VOIP server.

Additional note: I don't want to make the guild too big (what's too big you ask - not too sure atm - I will let you know when we get there :-)) - as I believe doing so means members of the guild are more like 'padding for numbers' rather than a group of close friends who enjoy each other's company and get along.

No problem Jimbob, they guys that I'm inviting are the one's who were in my WoW guild or are close personal friends.

Yes, that's fine CkVega, we spoke about that and I am happy for you to invite them.

Officers and Lieutenants PLEASE READ THIS

Ensure that when you sign someone up for the guild, you direct them here and let them know about the VOIP server please! I noticed a lot of new members who have no idea this website or the VOIP server even exists.

When it comes to doing raids later on, VOIP is a MUST.

Yes will do although i haven't recruited anyone but your second character so far.

I am sure i will do and when i do i will tell them to come here and register and tell them about mumble as i have only seen Neil on it so far.

You are correct VOIP will need to be a must for raiding as you dont want to be p***ing around typing stuff when there is a big monster to kill :-)

I may have been somewhat remiss in directing some of the new members to this site (most are, but a few still need to).
Everyone invited so far though is a personal friend or a guildie, I've not wanted to invite any random people yet.

If a random does want to join (who turns out to at least be a sensible player) should I direct them to the site first, or just invite them and set them to recruit status (and then send them to the site)?

No problem CkVega, launch was always going to be hectic. I just wanted to lay down some ground rules.

After all, if members of the guild decide they do not wish to use the website or VOIP, it is fine. I would just like them to know about it and have the option to choose for themselves.

As for randoms, I'll leave that up to whoever is recruiting to decide. Just use your best judgement as to how to handle each individual.
