So the other day I was looking through the loft for stuff to sell and found my old digital TV dongle. Tried it out on my computer and was amazed to find it actually worked - even with a crappy little 6 inch aerial sitting by the window it picked up about 10 channels. Bonus! I can watch TV on my second monitor.

After a bit of faffing about I was curious about potential ways to boost the signal and wondered if you guys had any ideas.

1. Can you wire up a metal venusian blind to act as an aerial?
2. Given the insulation around my shed is lined with metal foil, can I somehow harness that?

TCT in advance for any cheap ideas you may come up with.

Dunno really Greg, from my limited experience with such things, I think that you need a focused aerial  for digital TV signals i.e. a device that can collect the RF energy begin emitted from a set direction. I think it is more radios that benefit from being attached to anything metal as they are more omnidirectional.
