So, enjoying this so far and came up with a potential theory regarding the whole maze thing:

Given that Bernard told Dolares about the whole maze thing in yesterday's episode - and even asked her if she wanted freedom; perhaps the maze is actually just a kind of "touring test" for the robots - something for them to solve and prove they have independent thought. If they solve it, the are given freedom.

This solves a number of issues with the staff allowing the glitches to carry on without fixing anything and their general malaise about everything related to them at the moment.

The cocky psychopath black-hat guy that's been there for 30 years could therefore either be: a robot himself (and not know it); or simply caught up in this "quest" and unaware that it was not even meant for the park go-ers.

Probably miles off, but it does kind of make sense. It could also explain why he is so bat-shit crazy, raping and killing everyone - since he has been "unhinged" and left that way for 30-odd years.

Ford is producing the story-lines to try and encourage the robots in this manner too.

Just a thought.

Enjoyed last night's episode - and it seems to confirm another theory floating around - the two timeline thing. Since old matey boy who got hanged by black hat was right as rain for William to talk to in a completely different area of the park. So, does white-hat go rogue at some point and eventually become black hat?

A strange show to be sure. Any of you guys actually watched this yet? Meg?

To be honest we crammed all 5 episodes in Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning so i am little overloaded and need to process it as an american would say.

What i will say is it is an awesome show with some real depth and a sinister yet subtle undertone.

I really like it but haven't really thought of theories yet as there is so much to tie together .

Not sure it was quite edge of the seat stuff. It was obvious as hell. In fact I even suggested it a couple of weeks back. Still good stuff though. For edge of the seat stuff Game of Thrones and Walking Dead still beats this into the ground.

...what I took away from that episode:

1. Dolaris is/was Wyatt (because of her earlier malfunction and Ford is now developing it 30 years after her malfunction) and will be sent after the Man In Black as his challenge/enemy.
2. Willaim was captivated by Dolaris 30 years ago (in love). She went off the chart and got reset - forgetting everything.
3. Bernard is an android copy of Arnold.
4. We have seen Bernard in the show when it was actually Arnold.
5. There are actually 3 timelines being explored concurrently here. No doubt because of the way the host's memory is "clear as day" - unlike ours.
6. William is The Man in Black 30 years later.
7. "The maze" is when a host's consciousness gets fragmented and they start thinking/acting "out of the box". This is what the Man In Black wants to find - again (as well as "unlocking" Dolaris).
8. Logan's sister - the woman William is to be married to is the one that kills herself - probably because of Williams's obsession with the park and Dolaris.

Are you completely forgetting that Mauve can now control Hosts and can kill!!!

I don't think we have met Wyatt yet, unless it was that girl right at the end of the episode... That would be quite pleasant...

I don't think Bernard is Arnold as he was drawn by Arnold from the blueprints. He was one of Arnolds originals the same as Doloris.

The Wyatt theory is indeed "out there", I agree. Since we have not actually seen present day Doloris in quite a while though, it could happen. One of my other theories is that Wyatt could be a robot version of Logan.

There is no way it was that girl. She was the host that introduced William to the park right near the start of the show. He even mentioned he recognized her and that they were "still using her". She then said to Teddy something along the lines of "Wyatt has missed you, welcome back to the fold". So Teddy clearly used to work for Wyatt.

I believe there are 3 timelines happening here.

1. "William Timeline". Containing William, Logan, Doloris - set 30 years ago

2. "Narrative Timeline". Where the black-hat man kills Maeve and her daughter. Ford and Bernard, English writer and inspector scenes also belong here (they are creating Wyatt and Ford's new narrative). Set 1-5 years ago.

3. "Present Day". Black-hat's main story at present, with Teddy and Wyatt. Where Maeve is going psycho bitch.

EDIT: Not too sure about 2 and 3 being separate now, could just be both part of the same timeline.

I dont think there is a seperate timelinesfor everyone, its all happening at the same time just in different parts of the park...

The Wyatt storyline is just going to take over the whole show, but Maeve is deffo going to go bat shit crazy!!!

To put it simply: Rubbish. If that is the case, then how do you explain the following:

- Wyatt doesn't even exist in certain scenes - and infact, is actually being created by the English guy in some of them (Ford's "new narrative").
- Doloris' constant timeline skipping through her own memory (i.e. the quote that host's memories are "clear as day").
- The guy that Black Hat had with him (Lawrence) was playing a completely different character in William's scenes - and Black Hat knew him before he was reassigned this new narrative (i.e. back 30 years ago when we are seeing him AS WILLIAM).
- Black Hat's mention of the host that greeted him when he entered the park - and her new role.
- Maeve being seen in two different roles in two different storylines (past and future). The same can be said about Doloris, Lawrence and Teddy.
- Parts are clearly set in the same area of the park, yet no storylines have ever converged. Infact, quite the opposite.
- Westworld company logo's changing between scenes - indicating different timelines.
- The town with the church appears differently in different stories. Buried in one, there in the other and populated in another one.

There is absolutely no way you can say there are not more than one timeline being shown here at this point. It's bonkers to think it's all just happening in "another area of the park".

Whether or not the show itself is set in present day and we are just seeing host "memories", or whether we are indeed skipping through time periods is yet to be seen though.
