Oddly enough that is almost exactly what I have done on the game me and Jen were playing. I will finish it off and report how it goes.

Well after much digging from the tunnelling duo, we now have an access tunnel from the underground base at the lake that runs directly into the basement of the house we fortified in the main town.
So we now have full access to the town without even having to risk walking there above ground.

The house is looking a bit fucked and I didn’t have time to do repairs last night so if anyone gets a chance to do a spot of renovation feel free.

Not sure I could cope with a full underground system! It took us all night to dig that far and that was only 1 block wide.

We did work out a good digging technique to dig a passage way 1 block wide by 2 blocks high:

-One person stands and one crouches (with the couched person in front)

-The crouched person mines the lower block and picks up the rocks as they fall

- The stood person mines the top block and deals with putting up torches as you go. 



Also we managed to sort out the iron issue, we now have over 200 ingots.

Did you have any disconnections from the server last night? Meg was having issues but I think it was shitty Virgin on his end.

It may well be Virgin as i was being kicked every 5 mins but after you reset the server i played for nearly 30 mins with no problems so it may be the game it was up to day 100 and something it is still an Alpha after all

Yes, it could very well be the game itself, as I could not find anything else wrong. We will have to keep an eye on it.

Yes i was suppose to be moving on Friday but it has been pushed back till next week now and i am pretty much packed so i am having the spare time

Dyson was have some trouble last night as well. His game basically froze around him, he could still move around and stuff but I had frozen in his view. He restated a few times and rebooted his router and it seems to clear it up.

That sounds like a different issue, most probably the game itself. Hey-ho, I suppose these things are to be expected on an early release alpha. If you think about it, it's actually remarkably stable for a game in it's 5th alpha patch. He had a similar issue the other night too, with something about falling off the end of the world, I seem to remember. Sounds like an engine issue.

The disconnection thing that Meg had was exactly the problem I was having with Virgin, which is why that was my first assumption after I had checked stuff on my end.

It only seemed to clear up after he rebooted the router so I am inclined to think he too was having some sort of connection issue. Kiss of death here I know but; I have had no such issues with the game, it has been remarkably stable.

I managed to get about half way through making the house trench. Took ages as I was having to fend off zombies whilst doing it. It seems asphalt takes more hits to break compared to stone as well.

Still, it's getting there. Once that's done I will work on making the house a little more secure, since it's still not in great shape.
