Apparently if you get a science officer crew member it really speeds up mining.

I had a quick look at the weapon customisation screen last night, it looks like a topic in its self. You can adjust sliders to alter the properties of every weapon i.e. make it harder hitting but with a lower fire rate, balance the fire rate and energy consumption to give it a lower heat signature etc.

Found some useful information regarding multiplayer from another forum:

To find another player push the ~ key. That will show a list of players on-line at the time in the upper right side of your screen. It will show many items in regard to them like Civie and Military rank, their fps,call sign and system coordinates. Welcome to the forum and the Sim. Have fun and hope to see you in Multi-Player sometime.:) If you want to form a Clan, pick a name or use initials such as My clan which is "Universe Explorers" [UE]. Put the name between [ and ] brackets in front of your call sign. The server will then give your group credit for areas you control.;)

Here is a good one, remap the jump drive button from F2 to something else. Last night I spent ages filling up the ship with platinum, went to open up the nav map (F1) and ended up flying full force into the roid I was just harvesting.

O bother I went.

I did notice it is missing the num-pad 7 and 9 keys - which from memory increase and decrease the maximum thrust your ship can output.

Looking into transfer money between players and it seems that the only was to do it involves giving the money to a third part in multiplayer then getting the cash back with your second profile. for example if i want to transfer 50k from my minor to my combat pilot:

- Load up the minor and go in multiplayer.
- Fin a player you trust and transfer 50k to them.
- Log out then log back in with the combat pilot.
- If the player you gave the money to is a good egg, you can transfer the money back and the space cash has been given to the combat pilot.
